TONIGHT I START SINGING

I will start singing at LEWINSKIS tonight.

8.30 - 11.30 pm

They say it´s no people out and about in the nights, but 

if we anyhow get some in I will continue singing 3 nights a week during 

the month of August.

I will then sing Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

In September I will sing 6 nights a week. More about this later...

Preparing For The New Season

The summer is soon over and I have already started preparing for the new season.

As you can see my blogg also has got a new look with an theme of autumn.

At the moment I´m busy looking for new songs to take into the repertoire.

Walk alone, Paradise Hotel, Raggle Taggle Gypsy, The boat to Liverpool, Timber are a few of the backing tracks/dances that I´ve got so far, but I can´t yet promise that I finally will sing them when I must try out the key first to see if they fit my voice. If not we can play the original tracks in the breaks if somebody like to dance them.

I don´t know yet when I will be ready to start, but I will for sure be on before the end of August... maybe earlier? During the month of September we will have line dance 6 nights a week.

September is a "line dance month" here on Tenerife. The other months we mostly have line dance 3 nights a week, and 3 nights we have mixed country music/ couple dance nights.

 

Please get over here if you can and meet up with all the dancers that come back every year in September.If we get teachers here from England I will ask them to teach the new, most popular dances, if they like to do it. It would be nice if we could learn at least a couple of new dances every week, but like I said it depends on if somebody like to teach.

We will start "the line dance month" already in the end of August when some of the dancers will arrive earlier this year.

The Wild Cats

Do you remember the wild cats that showed up at my mothers house last year?

Cariñosa (the grey-white cat) has got three babies this summer. 

We think"Abuela" is dead when nobody  have seen it.

Brito gives them food three times a day or more at the moment, and they all get close to him now even when some of them were very afraid in the beginning.

We counted them to be 9 cats that visit here this summer so it´s quite a lot of food for him to prepare. And an other thing is that a Magpie bird that is living in one of the  trees in the yard has also got a lot of babies and it quickly rob the food so Brito must watch it.

Or they are actually 8 cats at the moment when the "Yellow cat" was hit by a car outside the house last week. We have not seen it since that so we think it probably died even when it run away after the accident.

It doesn´t matter if we have been out on the  island or if we have been at home on the mainland, we have made party dinners every day! So many nice dinners that I start feeling a little bit tired of eating.

I think I have gained about 3kg so far, even when we have tried to stay LCHF (Low carb) as much as possible.

But the worse bandit is for sure Tupla Chocolate bars and ice cream? As soon as I return to Tenerife I will get back to my real diet. Sugar, potatoes, rice and bread will then be banned.

If you are in Finland I recommend you to by the chocolate fondue below.

I bought it on Lidl in Vasa. So easy to use and good tasting chocolate.

You just dip different pieces of fruits and biscuit in it and have it together with a glass of cold champagne. We had it with Flexinet-Semiseco champagne that is my favorite drink when it comes to stronger waters.

Fishing tour continue.... June 29, 2014

About 7 am we went out on the sea to collect the nets and the fishes.

It was nice weather and the wind was about 4 meters per second. 

What a lovely feeling being out on the sea so early in the morning!

We decided to take the fishes out from the nets first later, back on the island, when some of them were quite big and difficult to remove. 

Oh what a good fishing luck we had!!!! So lovely!!!

These are the different fishes that we got.

Id, mort, braxen, abborre and Gadda.

All together we got 25 fishes,but Brito cut and throw 12 of them to the 

seagulls later on when they seamed to be so hungry.

In the afternoon we made a lovely meal of 4 abborre fishes+ new potatoes + a sauce called "pickavaton" and the rest of the fishes Mam put into the freezer.

Fishing Tour, Finland, June 27, 2014

We Finnish women can do almost everything ( in comparison I know women from other countries who don´t even know how to sew on a button) so yesterday we, my Mama and I, decided to go fishing.We have been out here on my Mam´s island since Thursday and we were also here during the midsummer week but it was quite cold weather then. Only +6 degrees in the night! It should be about +18-22 in the midsummer,but the weather is not longer like it used to be. Today it was sunny and about +16  degrees of Celsius.

Anyhow, Brito has never been fishing with nets so we decided he can be the film team so that you can take part of the adventure. We got this idea of going fishing about 8 o´clock yesterday in the evening and started checking out the nets to be sure they would be easy to put out. We used three nets that are about 5 meters deep and the wind was only about 5-6 meters per second when we finally, about 9.30 in the night, went out on the sea and laid them.

He,he! The life on the island is like a real fisherman life! We listen to the seaman forecast on the radio at last 3 times a day or more! It´s the weather that dictates your stay and program and if you don´t take responsibility and listen to the weather forecast you can end up being stranded for days not getting back to the mainland. It´s open sea outside here and the waves can get real big .And if they say it will get windy you, of course, do not put the nets into the sea...and if they talk about rain for many days you probably prefer to go home to her real house where you can live normal.

If I just get time tomorrow I will edit the next video that is from about 7 am this morning when we went out to collect the catch.

Striking Serpent - Hoggorm

About a week ago Birgitta, my Mams neighbour, killed a dangerous snake on the road outside the boat storage at Mams house. Brito took this video clip.

These snakes are very dangerous so now we wear wellingtons if we have to visit the storage.

Good luck was that Birgitta saw it, who is brave enough to kill them, because if we had seen it on our own the three of us (Mam, Brito and me) for sure would have been screaming like crazy and nobody had killed it.
We are all very afraid of them. 

Oh I still get a lot of goose-bumpers when I watch this video clip.

We were still busy last night! I should have stopped before Easter and 

I am still on and we are in the end of May! This is a miracle! 

They say the tourism has gone down a lot and some restaurants in Los Cristianos have already closed down?

In my point of view this must be a very good year and I think the prognosis curve of the tourism must be higher than ever before?

Looks like I must continue singing during April and May every year, at least,
if it continues like this.

These months are normally the weakest of the year, so I know I should be on in June and July as well this year, when the tourism normally goes up a little bit again from the middle of June.

It feels sad to miss out all of you who will be here while I am on vacation, but I also know that I must have a vacation. At least to rest my voice. It´s not normal to sing 3 hours x 6 nights a week like I have been doing the whole winter. It´s a heavy load for my vocal cords.

You are normally at least 2 singers in the band if you
work like I do and then you hopefully can save your voice every second song so that you only sing half of the night.

My voice cords are stressed to maximum!

But I will anyhow not be quiet during my vacation. 

I must then learn the new songs for the next season. 

After I have started up again,  I can not sing and learn new songs in the daytime when I must save the voice for the nights. 

During high season I don´t even like to be out on town in the daytime, talking with friends or people I might know.
People ask a lot and it turns out to be me speaking all the time. 

If I do this my voice is not in good health in the night.
 Actually my voice can be affected for days if I start socialising too much some day, and then after that sing in the night. 

Some people don´t understand this and think that I am a shy person when I don´t like to come out and sit and talk. I think their point of view is 50% right, when I am also so tired of people asking me about my private life that I many times only because of this avoid people. 

To be honest there are not many people I can trust! But this is the backside of my work and I like so much to sing that I am still willing to pay the price even when it make you a little bit suspicious and strange.

We, Brito and me, have a  lot of projects to take care of when we get back from Finland, but I hope I will be ready to start singing from the beginning of August or earlier if I can.

But anyhow,my last night is on Sunday! I look forward seeing you all then.

Ranked 10.239.191 in US ?

This is really crazy!

I searched on my own name on google and found a site telling that I am ranked 10.239.191 in the USA with my blogg. Where did they get that from? And the photo of me is about 7 years old and the look of my blogg too.I don´t even blogg much these days when I mostly say what I like to say on Facebook.

Seams like they count my visitors?
And they say that my blogg is worth  about 1.500 dollars?
I would never sell it for that price! And it will never be put up for sale!

After I said something about Israel (about 5-7 years ago) stars have started twinkling all over the world in my visitors map as soon as I publish a post. Many places in the states seam to know it directly but also in other countries. I wonder if the US government have put me "on the list" only because I told what I did in Israel some years ago? But I´m not participating in any kind of programs in Israel at the moment even when I still love Israel.

 I got a mail from a website one day asking me how much it would be if I would make advertising for their site on my blogg, but I did not even answer when I think it was a joke from somebody who just would like to know if I get money out from my blogg. Some people are so jealous and do this kind of things all the time. I get a lot of friend requests on the Facebook that I don´t allow and crazy messages in my mail box so at the moment I don´t trust anybody and I´m not interesting in making business out of my blogg when that would mean that I would have to make at least a couple of posts per day and I don´t have time for that.
